| A couple of the great things about working at Atari in the hey days of the early '80's (aside from the business meetings on the beach) were the fun places to go (Disney Studios, Jim Henson Assocs.) and interesting people to meet (Stephen Spielberg, Chris Cerf).
Atari, then owned by Time/Warner, was creating games based on some of Warner Bros. cartoon characters.
One day who should appear in our office? None other than my hero, Chuck Jones, genius director of many of the best cartoons of the 20th century and creator of Wile E. Coyote, among other classic cartoon personalities. We sat at my desk for nearly an hour watching great Warner Bros. shorts, with Chuck giving the inside scoop on their making.
As he was leaving, I grabbed my note pad and managed to work up the courage to request an autograph (the only person I've ever asked).
He came through in style, as you can see on the left. Since then it's been my prized possession.
