When I was a kid my Dad worked as a pipe-fitter at the Electric Boat shipyard in Groton, CT. He was always bringing home useful items, among them an incredibly tenacious duct tape known in our house simply as "the green tape", and a heavy-duty hand cleaner in a big orange can called "Phlo". This stuff sat under the kitchen sink, ready to clean up whatever mess we got into. In true French-Canadian pack-rat style he saved the cans, which I re-discovered recently, and decided to put to use in the service of art.
I picked up a motor and gear box at Radio Shack and after fitting it with a bit of fishing line and a few swivels, his arms move and foot taps.
